Bad news first?

Bad news: My scanner took a dive. INTO HELL.
Good news: I'm working with charcoal now.
Sidenote: You can definately tell I'm a n00b, haha. I'm very picky and I like to be able to erase. I suppose I can, but it's hard with the smudging and all that jazz.
